R.S.O.U.'s Loyalist Arch
As the end of the marching season approached in 1999, it was decided that the following year they would enter the new millenium by building a new Loyalist Arch in Neillsbrook. It had been over 10 years since Neillsbrook had an Arch, so this time it was significant, moving into a new century, a new era and new hopes for 2000.
The Arch consists of two 35ft steel poles. The middle frame is constructed with special channel alloy, bolted and welded together. The Arch committee decided to stick with large murals on the Arch.

These murals, depicted in the form of plaques, trace the history of Protestantism and the Orange Culture from its origin.
It has the famous ship, which travelled the seas along Ulster's shores - The mighty King William III Prince Of Orange, crossing the Boyne - The famous ship which travelled the seas along Ulster's shores, The Mountjoy (connected with and very relevant to the Apprentice Boys Of Derry). It also has the badge of the brave and gallant 36th Ulster Division, which lost thousands of its brave troops, mostly at the famous, or infamous, Battle of the Somme in 1916.
Another of the plaques depicts Lord Edward Carson, probably Ulster's most famous politician. This man, along with his deeds, is a credit to the people of Ulster and we live to this day by his famous guidance. The picture of Drumcree Church symbolises modern day Loyalism. Drumcree has been for several years, the soul strengthener of Loyalism and has created a stalemate and a thorny issue for Nationalists and Republicans. Loyalists see this as a battle. An ongoing fight, but an everlasting battle. Finally the badge of Randalstown Sons Of Ulster. This symbolises the band's stand in Randalstown. The band's loyalism is a thorn in the side of the majority of Nationalists and Republicans in Randalstown. The band's hope is that this thorn remains, although the fight is getting harder, the members will thrive on continually showing their religion in the town.

The Arch was officially opened on Saturday 10th June 2000.
